Eric leads the German Digital, Data and Technology practice for the energy, utilities & resources industries. He joined Baringa from Accenture where he headed the data, analytics and AI circle for energy, utilities and resources industries. He has worked at BCG, SAP and several boutique consultancies. He advises his clients from IT strategy through to realisation of business value.
He has led major IT transformations to digitalise and reshape the German utilities industry. Since starting his consulting career in 2007, Eric has enjoyed partnering with clients for long-term success, empowering their value proposition with functional or corporate IT and realising potentials by aligning teams around end-to-end value streams. Since his first utilities project in 2014, he has been eager to deliver realistic technology strategies, find the quick wins and to adapt sustainable approaches from other industries.
Eric is an experienced C-suite strategy advisor, sparring partner and coach but also expert for deep dives into detailed IT solution development or architecture. He advises across the full value chain within generation, transmission, distribution, asset operation and retail. He is passionate about renewable energy and his deepest experience is in wind energy.
He is eager to realise business opportunities with digitalisation, data and AI, but also is expert to ramp up the existing IT landscape to unleash its full value potential. An early journey through the music industry has educated him in customer experience and effective agile delivery. All his career was fuelled by data for insights since his first data warehouse paper in 2005 and accompanied by ongoing research in key areas such as cloud analytics, machine learning and energy economics.
Eric lives with his family in Düsseldorf. He loves to travel, enjoys art, dining out and needs running or suspension training for his wellbeing. Music is his other source of energy and hobby in his small home studio.
