"There’s never been more data, more powerful technology or more understanding of the value of digitisation. Yet many organisations still struggle to effectively control their data, generate insight or embed AI. The leaders in this space are pulling away from their competitors, so for everyone else it is critical to build digital capability, just to keep up."

In detail
After completing a degree in Law and French Law, and taking a pause for some snowboarding in the Alps, David began his career as a strategy consultant in 1999, focused on the Comms and Hi Tech industries. As the questions his clients asked him became ever more complicated, harnessing large volumes of data became critical to delivering the insights they craved, and as a result David learned how organisations needed to operate in order to effectively manage and leverage their data. As such, over the last two decades, David has helped global businesses, major government departments, private equity-backed scale-ups and elite sports teams create value from their data.
David joined Baringa in 2017 to build our data, analytics and AI team. Having taken that team to scale, he is now driving the evolution of our broader digital, data and technology offering.
David helps clients to govern their data to minimise risk, translate data into actionable insights and harness AI and automation to drive transformation across their organisations. He works across multiple industries, enabling him to share best practice (and how to avoid common pitfalls) so that his clients can tackle their challenges in innovative ways.
Delivering value for clients is what drives David, which means that the latest technology or latest technique is far less important than the outcome they deliver. David also helps clients to build enduring capability, attract talent and build the right operating model – so that harnessing data is a long term reality, not just a project.
When not working in London or with his clients, David lives next to the sea in Pembrokeshire with his wife and three teenage daughters. During downtime, he channels his inner teenager, grabbing any opportunity to surf, skateboard, wakeboard or snowboard with his kids. On a summer’s day when it isn’t raining, you’ll also find him fielding on the cricket pitch, complaining about his back.
