Baringa’s commitment to anti-racism
Following the launch of our 10 Commitments to Anti-Racism in 2020, we are proud of the progress we have made towards becoming a truly anti-racist organisation. We have focused on proactively building our Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse talent pipelines, from our graduate programmes to senior leadership. To reflect this progress and our ambitions for the future, we have updated these commitments to ensure we are holding ourselves accountable and maximising impact.
Our Commitments to driving a truly anti-racist organisation
- Enhance transparency and accountability through improved process and policy
- Conduct external inclusion audits/benchmarking, and demonstrate our commitments externally
- Expand inclusive learning opportunities
- Strengthen leadership pathways
- Demonstrate leadership commitment
- Improve recruitment and retention
- Cultivate professional networks, sponsorship and community building
- Enhance listening and action mechanisms
Since focusing more critically on the representation and inclusion of our ethnically diverse colleagues, we have seen:
- 6 subnetworks launch; Black at Baringa, SEEAN – pronounce ‘seen’ (South East and East Asian Network), South Asian, MENA (Middle Eastern & North Africa), Mixed Heritage Network.
- Thrive As You Are, leadership programme for ethnically diverse junior leaders launched
- We continue to publish our Ethnicity Pay Gap report alongside our Gender Pay Gap report. These include additional data which hold us accountable such as sharing the diversity of our new joiners, promotes and a detailed timeline of actions we’ve taken forward in this space.
