Nikhita joined Baringa upon completing her undergraduate studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She initially joined the Government advisory practise where she supported central government departments in their efforts to deliver public sector services. For the last 2 years she has been a core member of the Global Energy Perspectives team within the Energy and Resources sector. Here she has focused on the emerging trends at the interface between energy, macroeconomics and geopolitics, and how they impact stakeholders and investors throughout the value chain.
Nikhita’s work has covered the depth and breadth of the energy transition, including powermarket trends in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, supply chain challenges associated with critical minerals in light of low investor confidence, and country and region-level climate and energy policies during election periods. Nikhita’s work has been featured in Time magazine, and presented at the 2023 FT Asia Commodities, 2023 Handelsblatt Summit, and at the British Institute for Energy Economics. She additionally supports in the development of the company’s quarterly macroeconomic reports and has presented these insights to C-Suite boardrooms and international audiences.
In producing these insights, Nikhita has strengthened her critical thinking and analytical skills to develop a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem in which stakeholders operate. Nikhita is motivated by collaborating with SMEs across the energy transition to deliver insights which can drive positive change. This has allowed her work to support stakeholders and investors in decision-making processes and therefore drive material change in decarbonisation efforts.
