"These are challenging times. Global brands, large corporations and industrials are navigating a host of risks and challenges to their businesses – rising costs, geopolitical uncertainty, changes in consumer preferences, energy security and rapid climate change. Whilst the path to decarbonisation may not be easy, I also see climate change and the energy transition as a significant opportunity for corporates to positively impact long-term business stability, create new revenue streams and improve competitive advantage: the opportunity to develop new products and services; access new markets; to transform operations; invest in new, more efficient process related assets; attract talent; access government subsidies and green financing; and to embrace the energy transition to connect to and be in control of clean, reliable, cheaper sources of power. The pathway and choices will be different for each organisation, and for each of its geographies."

In detail:
Michael has been in the technical consulting space for 26 years. Starting his career in the Telecoms industry, providing engineering services to design and roll-out some of the world’s first mobile networks, he has always been around innovation and technology. A commercially oriented leader with an entrepreneurial flair, Michael has developed two international businesses from start-up with angel investment.
For the last 13 years, Michael has specialised in decarbonisation and energy generation strategies for FMCG manufacturing, industry and large corporates, mainly in UK, EU, ME and NAm. Working with C-Suite executives, operations and site engineering teams, Mike works with clients to develop and execute strategies that address the energy transition, energy cost reduction objectives, and meet CO2 sustainability targets.
Crucially, Mike has helped his clients move from theoretical strategy to practical, physical implementation of assets in on-site generation, electrification, Hydrogen-ready CHP, compressed-air, hydraulics, renewables, waste-to-energy, ORC, Heat-Pumps, IoT & Digital energy management. Having worked with a broad spectrum of sectors, he is able to bring transferable experience and observations to identify opportunities, highlight risks, suggest technologies and spotlight trending innovations.
Out of Baringa, Mike enjoys a busy personal and family life. Whether it’s his daughter’s tennis lessons, coaching his son’s U16 football team or his personal fitness regime, weekends and evenings are full. He loves international travel with his family, experiencing new cultures and cuisine (he is a keen chef at home). With Spanish parents, Mike likes to keep his Spanish language skills sharp by listening to Iberian current affairs.
