In detail:
Hakim Yadi brings over 15 years of experience applying technology to transform pharmaceutical development, commercialisation, and care delivery. He supports healthcare and life sciences clients in harnessing digital tools whether to personalise treatments, accelerate clinical pathways, or build scalable tech-enabled care models.
His work bridges the gap between science, software, and systems, helping clients realise the full potential of data-driven, digitally integrated healthcare.
As co-founder and CEO of Closed Loop Medicine, Hakim built one of the UK’s leading TechBio companies, combining drug therapies with digital tools to optimise dose and improve outcomes in chronic disease. He led the business from concept through to scale, raising venture financing and securing commercial partnerships with pharma, payers, and health systems. His experience provides clients with practical insights into precision medicine, digital therapeutics, regulatory strategy, and go-to-market execution in complex, regulated markets.
Previously, as founding CEO of the Northern Health Science Alliance, Hakim led the creation of a nationally recognised health innovation cluster spanning major NHS teaching hospitals and research universities. He helped unlock more than £50 million in collaborative R&D funding, develop commercial pathways for novel technologies, and shape national health data policy. A key component of this was the £20 million Connected Health Cities programme.
He has advised government on industrial strategy, inward investment, and public-private innovation models with experience that continues to inform how he helps clients navigate ecosystems and shape policy engagement.
Hakim’s clients benefit from his ability to align commercial goals with clinical, regulatory, and policy consideration, whether advising a pharma company on tech-enabled engagement strategies, supporting a digital health business on scaling within the NHS, or helping investors evaluate platform plays in biotech and TechBio.
Hakim holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge and was awarded an OBE for services to healthcare technology and the economy. Hakim is a trusted advisor to board-level leaders across life sciences and health systems. At Baringa, he partners with clients seeking to lead at the convergence of science and technology, helping them turn ambition into outcomes with pace, clarity, and purpose.
