Virtual roundtable
Rapid charging energy infrastructure investment opportunities
Date: Tuesday, 29 September 2020
With its Decarbonising Transport Plan, the UK Government has committed to achieve carbon budgets and net zero emissions across every single mode of transport by 2050. We know that decarbonisation of vehicles needs supporting EV infrastructure to be built out at scale. So far, investors have struggled to monetise the opportunity, grappling with key hurdles such as managing demand and merchant risk, understanding the value of consumer/usage data and how to minimise the risks associated with EVs.
In this roundtable discussion we will be exploring challenges such as:
- Making EV charging infrastructure (EVCI) investible: structuring business models and revenue stacks, including building-in data and technology revenue lines.
- The role of flexibility: co-location, grid balancing and dealing with capacity constraints.
- De-risking EVCI projects: building EVCI projects into the wider portfolio.
This is an invitation-only virtual roundtable in collaboration with Osborne Clarke, the law firm specialising in energy sector investments. Please contact Natasha.Patel@baringa.com if you would like more information about this event.
