The accolade is arrived at by first looking at the performance of companies across 3 national lists in major management consultancy markets – the UK, the US and Germany – which assess client recommendations, as well as those of consultants themselves. This is supplemented by a broader global survey. The national lists include:

- The Financial Times’ list of the UK’s Best Management Consultants
- brand eins’ 2023 Beste Unternehmensberater (2023 Best Management Consultants) in Germany.
