
Baringa deepens Nordic footprint with launch of Copenhagen office

Baringa has taken a significant step in its European growth journey with the launch of its first Nordics office. The new Copenhagen office strengthens Baringa’s connection to local markets in Denmark and the broader Nordic region allowing it to work more closely with leading energy organisations as they navigate the complexities of decarbonisation and market transformation.
The opening of a Copenhagen office signals Baringa’s ongoing commitment to the Nordic region and is the first step to building a cross-Nordic presence. The Nordic countries represent some of Europe’s leaders in the global energy industry, demonstrating real innovation in tackling the energy transition and wider market dynamics. From renewable integration to decarbonisation strategies, Baringa’s experts provide support to corporates, traders, investors, and policymakers in addressing these critical energy challenges and opportunities.
Welcoming two new Partners in Copenhagen:
Simon Chignell brings a wealth of industry and consulting insight gained across the globe and within the Nordics to his new role as Energy Advisory Partner, based in Copenhagen. A seasoned leader in renewable energy transformation, Simon specialises in guiding energy organisations through commercial analysis and structuring, operating model transformation and renewable project delivery - from origination through to commissioning. His deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in transitioning to cleaner energy systems makes him an invaluable addition for Baringa’s clients in the Nordic region.
Theis Egan will support the region’s leading energy and commodity trading companies in his new role as Energy Trading Partner in Copenhaegen. With a lifelong career in this space, he brings deep industry expertise and a proven track record of guiding trading businesses through complex transformations spanning business strategy, operating model redesign, IT implementation and advanced data and AI initiatives. His intimate understanding of the Nordic commodity markets, paired with a history of working with and understanding the challenges of Nordic energy organisations, positions him to deliver significant value to Baringa’s clients.
