Baringa, a leading global management consultancy, has launched its first Spanish office with the hire of Gerardo Fernández as a Partner based in Madrid.
Gerardo is an energy transition strategy consultant with over 18 years’ experience in the energy and resources sector. He joins from Strategy&, the strategy consulting business unit of PwC.
Gerardo supports corporates, financial investors, independent power producers and project developers on strategy, commercial, and transaction advisory in Spain and Portugal. He has strong experience advising clients on strategic planning, corporate strategy, renewable energy integration, flexibility solutions, corporate decarbonisation, and behind-the-meter propositions. He also has significant experience in the gas and clean molecules sectors, focusing on net-zero pathway studies, regulation, and advocacy.
The Madrid office will provide a range of market, commercial, strategic and technical advisory services to clients in Iberia and Latin America, with an initial focus on the energy and resources sector. With offices across Europe, as well as the United States, and Asia-Pacific, Baringa supports international clients across multiple regions.
