Zdravko Mladenov

Zdravko joined Baringa in November 2024, bringing more than 20 years of experience spanning the civil service, management advisory and C-suite leadership roles. He was drawn to Baringa by a shared passion for building high-performing, purpose-led and people-first teams and organisations, underpinned by an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Originally from Bulgaria, Zdravko began his career at Hewlett Packard in the late 1990s before moving to the United States, where he served the US government and oversaw the financial and operational management of local functions with annual budgets exceeding $1 billion. He later joined McKinsey & Company in London as a Partner, leading technology-focused transformation programmes across the UK public sector as well as value creation initiatives for private equity-backed organisations.

Before joining Baringa, Zdravko served as Chief Digital and Information Officer at Post Office UK, where he was responsible for the technology underpinning the UK’s largest retail and financial services network. Leading a team of more than 600 professionals, he played a key role in one of the country’s most high-profile technology transformations, including the launch of the Drop & Collect store format, the first stores to move away from Horizon technology, and the scaling of Branch Hub, a digital multi-product platform for Postmasters.

A veteran business and technology leader, Zdravko has a strong track record of leading business-led, technology-enabled transformations, often powered by digital and AI innovation. He is an experienced Board and C-suite adviser, known for building trusted relationships and engaging confidently with both Executive and Non-Executive stakeholders.

 

Zdravko holds a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and an MBA from INSEAD, one of the world’s leading business schools.

 

Outside of work, Zdravko is passionate about football and has been a long-time player himself. He is the proud father of a young daughter and son and, in his own words, “my most important job is to take care of them and help them grow.”
