In detail:
John Wells is a Director in Baringa’s Consumer Goods and Retail practice, based in Chicago.
For his entire consulting career, John has worked in the CPG commercial front office space, specializing in customer & trade planning and strategic revenue management. His experience spans strategy definition, business case development, technology deployment, and developing & implementing ongoing organizational / support models. John has experience working across all major markets, including spending time working directly on client engagements in APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and N America. His global experience and subject matter knowledge have helped John become a key player in large-scale, global transformations.
John is passionate about taking an empathetic ‘listen first’ approach with his work, taking in all viewpoints and opinions of stakeholders before chiming in with perspectives and key points to challenge. This approach also comes through one of his other true passions: people development. Whether it’s welcoming someone to Chicago for the first time, or helping colleagues transition into a new role, you’ll always find John right there as a welcoming face and ready to help.
Outside of work, John loves to travel the world with his husband Justin. Together they enjoy learning and experiencing the history, customs, and cuisine of other cultures. In his spare time, you can find John pursuing his hobby as a pipe organist, playing in recreational volleyball leagues, or spending time with friends exploring Chicago’s culinary scene.
