"I believe we’re living through exciting times, with rapid advances in digital and Artificial Intelligence technologies changing the way we all live and work. My interests lie in improving the design and delivery of public services – through the adoption of user centred design. I’m excited by the potential these technologies hold to improve services both for citizens and the civil servants who administer them"

Indonesia, Exploring the Improbable Nation by Elizabeth Pisani. I was lucky enough to spend some time living and working in Indonesia in 2019, and have been fascinated by the country ever since!
In detail:
Deborah joined Baringa in 2024, bringing 13 years’ experience of working across the public sector specialising in the design and delivery of customer/employee experience and digital transformation projects. She has worked exclusively with public sector clients and is hugely passionate about designing exceptional public services for citizens, businesses and civil servants.
Deborah has worked both in-house as a civil servant, and as a consultant. As a civil servant, she worked as the first head of user centred design at an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care. This involved setting up and establishing a new design department within the agency’s digital & technology division. It was the first time the organisation had sought to build design capabilities in-house, so a big part of Deborah's role was developing strategies to introduce and drive awareness of user centred design practices across the organisation.
Prior to that Deborah spent 10 years working at a large consulting firm, working with public sector clients in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US to improve the design and delivery of their services, establish new capabilities within their organisations and re-design their business processes.
Deborah is proud born and bred South Londoner, and avid yogi! Outside of work, she is normally found in one of area’s yoga studios or many parks, woodland or green spaces!
