Rob Gilbert appointed as Director of Supply Chain at Great British Energy (Interim)
9 May 2025
Great British Energy has appointed Rob Gilbert as its new director of supply chain, on an interim basis. Rob will step out of his role as a partner at management consultancy Baringa for the next 12 months to lead the creation of the company’s Supply Chain Directorate. His work will focus on investing in UK supply chains and driving the creation of high-quality green jobs across the country.
Well known across the UK energy sector as a supply chain specialist, Rob authored a major report last year on the constraints and opportunities facing the UK’s renewable energy supply chain.
Rob Gilbert said: “It is an enormous privilege to support Great British Energy as its director of supply chain — an area I am hugely passionate about. The energy transition represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reindustrialise the UK and deliver the high-quality long-term jobs that can transform our once-great industrial heartlands in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Now is the moment to act — and with Great British Energy, we have the vehicle to bring opportunity back to communities across the UK.”
