Baringa Partners are delighted to see the successful conclusion of the sale by PNE Group of Hultema onshore wind farm in Sweden to Swiss infrastructure fund Reichmuth Infrastruktur II KmGK.

This has been a proud achievement for the Baringa team who have worked in conjunction with PNE’s subsidiary WKN, the bank consortium of NORD/LB and Siemens Financial Services and the financial advisor Newsec on the transaction since late November. We also extend our congratulations and best wishes to Reichmuth on taking over the project to its exciting next phase.

Baringa’s role has included:

  1. Provision of market advice and price projections in the Nordic power markets to support the seller in the valuation and divestment of the onshore wind farm Hultema
  2. Provision of PPA risk assessment in combination with weather sensitivity analyses to understand downsides to project revenue, cash flow and working capital

Yinfan Zhang, Nordics power market expert – Energy & Resources at Baringa Partners said “We are very proud to have assisted PNE and other stakeholders in the sale of Hultema onshore wind farm. Not only did we provide independent power market advice and price projections, we also carried out bespoke sensitivities to help stakeholders understand the project specific risks and opportunities under different wind conditions, a key requirement given the offtake structure. Such commercial structures that help projects secure and de-risk revenues are very important to sustain the great interests shown from infrastructure capital in the Nordic renewable space. At Baringa, we continue to develop and utilise our deep expertise in both power market fundamentals and route to market to provide strategic advice, transaction due diligence and commercial support to our clients in the Nordics.”

Marc Daube, power market expert for North West Europe at Baringa Partners commented “We are delighted to have been able to support PNE in the sale of the Hultema wind asset. We see significant interest from Northwest European institutional investors in renewable opportunities in the Nordics and work with our clients to help them understand the market and price risks and how commercial structures can be used to manage risks and secure financing.”
