In detail:
After graduating from university with a degree in chemistry, Matt worked for Rolls Royce and spent five years doing a mix of operational leadership and operational improvement work, which included time spent in Taiwan. With this strong foundation in operations he joined Baringa in 2014 to work in process transformation with major banks and utilities.
When Baringa launched its government practice, Matt refocused to apply his operational process and people transformation skills to the civil service. He’d found his niche and loves the variety moving between the likes of the Metropolitan Police, the Cabinet Office and HMRC: their mandates, culture and challenges are so wide-ranging. His proudest moment to date was driving change within the Land Registry. He felt a profound level of trust with the client allowing the Baringa team to co-lead the programme. Although challenging, it was fun.
Outside of work Matt divides his time between his extended family and enjoying anything sport-related, from cheering on Everton to relishing the buzz of Formula 1. If he wasn’t a consultant he’d have liked a career in F1.
