At Baringa Partners our Insurance team recently held a ‘C’ suite breakfast roundtable meeting on the 6th June in the City to discuss the findings of our biennial Baringa London Market Underwriting Survey.
We had over 20 London Market company CUOs, CROs and COOs respond to the survey, and a very engaging discussion at the breakfast roundtable on 4 emerging themes from the survey, with thoughts and experiences shared by attendees on:
- Driving profitable growth, calling out that insurers are going to need to seek out growth - it won’t be a given!
- Operational cost reduction and the challenges of delivering efficiencies in a sustainable way
- Technology adoption and the cultural shift required to make the London Markets more attractive for the future generation of Underwriters and Data scientists
- Insurers increasingly needing to define when and where to differentiate on product and the need to distinguish between speciality versus non-complex business
