Baringa becomes a Certified B Corporation®

We've achieved B Corp™ status, meaning we've been independently verified as using business as a force for good.

Being a B Corp is proof Baringa meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. And it's the beginning, not the end, of a journey: B Corp status is now written into our articles of association, ensuring we continue making life better for our clients, people, the communities in which we work, and the planet.

What this means for clients

Being a B Corp commits us to keep improving, and keep reporting on, our progress against what's called "sustainability assessment pillars". In practice, this means when clients work with Baringa they know the work will also have a positive and measurable effect on other stakeholders.

What this means for our community

We're measured—and we report—on our effect on the environment, as well as on social and governance issues. In other words, we do good while we do business.

Why did we achieve B Corporation status?

The assessment process covered all areas of our business, but here are some highlights demonstrating how we use business as a force for good:

We support the financial, physical, professional and social wellbeing of our workers. Some of the highlights are: our focus and the policies we have in place on health and wellbeing, our initiatives on mental health awareness, how we support the career development of all our colleagues, our active feedback culture and coaching, our bimonthly employee satisfaction surveys and how we promote a growth mindset. We constantly strive to be a great employer – for more than a decade we have consistently topped or come within the top five in great places to work lists. And we run a work placement programme that supports social mobility.

We are an impact based business. Our services deliver a positive social or environmental impact on our clients and their clients. For example: over the last five years, we’ve helped our clients create enough renewable energy capacity to power 180 million homes; we are helping clients in natural resources meet their climate and ESG commitments, we support the financial services sector to set and deliver on their climate commitments, and we’ve supported UK’s Department for Health and NHS with their response to Covid 19.

Much of Baringa's work helps the planet—including the market-leading climate change modelling we operate alongside BlackRock. We also support the economic and social wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work, through our pro bono work with charity partners, volunteering, secondments and community engagement, and our company wide CSR days. And we are stewarding the environment through our direct operations and supply chain. Since this programme started, we have reduced our CO2 emissions year-on-year, and have cut them by 60%.

We are proud to be part of the B Corp community

We are proud to be a certified B Corporation. And it’s proof that how we work enables us to make the world a better place whilst being successful and growing at the same time.
