Maik NeubauerPartner, Germany

Maik is a Partner in the German Consulting practice within Baringa Partners. With more than 15 years experience in the financial and energy sectors, Maik specialises in strategy execution, complex transformation and change management.

Before joining Baringa, Maik was a Board Member of the European Energy Exchange EEX and its subsidiary European Commodity Clearing (ECC) AG where he was responsible for Finance, Risk Control & Compliance and Legal & Regulations. In his role as Chief Operating Officer at EEX, he led the project to establish the German natural gas market and was responsible for the company’s emission trading markets. Maik has a consulting pedigree that includes leadership roles in IBM Global Services, C1 Group and The Executive Partners Group which has been integrated into Baringa Partners.

Maik studied Computer Sciences in Hamburg; International Business Management in Edinburgh (MBA); and European and International Business Law (MBL) at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Maik has been a member of the Baringa Partners leadership team since August 2011 with specific focus on developing Baringa’s consulting business in Central and Eastern Europe.

Maik lives with his family in Hamburg and loves to spend time with his three daughters. His passions include sailing, open water swimming and mountain biking. With mountain biking, he prefers to concentrate more on the climbing activities rather than testing the dangerous downhill trails since reaching his 40th birthday.
