Neil WinkworthSenior Consultant
I joined Baringa Partners in September 2010 from a global consultancy as a Consultant in our Financial Services practise. At the time I had 3 years’ experience of working with FS clients. In April 2011 I was promoted to Senior Consultant which, in itself, demonstrates that Baringa promotes its people based on merit and not time spent in grade.
My introduction into Baringa was far from a baptism of fire. After my induction, I started on client site and was quickly welcomed into the team. Two and a half days later I was sunning myself on beach in Sorrento, Italy, where the company had all been flown out to celebrate its 10 year anniversary. Not bad for my first week!
My first engagement at Baringa was a Customer Experience Transformation programme at a leading UK Retail Bank – something completely different to previous projects in my consulting career. Initially I worked on the Business Architecture workstream, designing and delivering solutions to take the client towards their customer experience vision, and ensuring the consistency and robustness of those solutions across our proof of concept sites. After a few months, I moved roles to focus on customer experience metrics, measuring the impact of the solutions that we were implementing and using new metrics and customer feedback to drive tangible improvements in frontline performance. Over the course of my first project I presented the findings of our work to the National Retail Banking Heads of Telephony and Marketing, and the deputy CEO – extremely valuable experiences.
There isn’t one thing that makes Baringa a uniquely great place to work - it’s a combination of tens of little things. For me, Baringa really does have a unique proposition that makes us a compelling choice to do business with and an excellent place to work. A relentless focus on culture, quality and sustainability is genuinely at the centre of everything we do; every business decision, every project, every new hire. Since I joined, I’ve seen a lot of new faces come through the door, but the calibre of those people is just as high as the people who have worked here for years.
In my spare time outside of the office I enjoy keeping fit, catching up with friends and family, and exploring new places, be that a new city or something new right here in London. I try to play squash every week, and started adventure racing at the start of 2011 which keeps me out of mischief on the weekends.
