Since joining Baringa Partners just under a year ago I have been involved in a couple of very varied roles. For my first role I worked for one of the major energy retailers in the UK helping them to analyse the root causes of differences between the electricity billed to their customers and the electricity that was being attributed to them by the central settlement process. The differences had a materiality in excess of £100million and although the work focused on process mapping and identifying potential improvements, we really added value by empowering the project team to work together to achieve their goals.

Currently I have a fantastic assignment based in central London working as part of small team implementing an energy trading system for a client with a varied generation asset portfolio. We are working as part of a much larger project team involving Baringa, the client and a third party IT developer, and are playing a key role in steering the project in the right direction.

Before working for Baringa Partners I worked for a number of energy industry companies, including a large supplier and Elexon (the balancing and settlement company for the UK power market). I’ve worked on projects to develop and implement process and IT changes, contract management and service delivery roles, as well as leading industry change programmes working with market participants. This is not the career I expected when I finished by degree in Genetics but working at Baringa Partners gives me great opportunities to be involved in exciting projects and to work for a variety of interesting clients both here and in Europe.
