Which historical figure do you look up to?
John Bardeen – a far lesser know physicist who received the Nobel prize not once, but twice and who through his study of atomic structure and properties of semiconductors, developed the first transistor. His work with Water Brattain, heralded the current age of the electronics industry. Bardeen later discovered superconductivity, which is instrumental in inventing CAT and MRI scans in the medical field.

Tom is a payments specialist but has extensive experience operating across Banking covering everything from Large Corporate and Institutional banking through mid-market and SMEs to Retail, covering assets and liabilities products across the board. Over the last decade, he’s narrowed in on Payments as his true passion and has intimate knowledge across strategy definition, operating model design, regulatory compliance and the hard lifting of end-to-end delivery. He leads our Payment delivery capability within Baringa – a specialist team of over 150+ people.
Tom enjoys nothing more than helping clients get the very most out of their payments capabilities and leveraging the customer touch points payments provide, to drive C suite agendas. A recent highlight has been supporting three large scale, complex, payment modernisation programmes to deliver on time, to budget and re defining how these platforms enable customer acquisition and business growth.
Tom is a passionate people leader; he takes most satisfaction from leading large teams to solve complex and strategically important problems for organisations.
In his free time, Tom is an avid sports person, that is when he is not chasing his young family around! Tom’s a keen traveller, and enjoys experiencing new cultures, different ways of living life and discovering what makes people really tick.
