I joined Baringa Partners in 2006 as a Senior Consultant within the European Energy practice. Over the last year I have enjoyed a number of roles that have provided the opportunity to deepen my experience in both the retail and the wholesale sides of the energy business at clients including British Energy and EDF Energy. To date, I have worked on 6 different projects that have lasted anything from a few weeks to several months in length, mainly focusing on process design and business transformation.

I am currently based in Gloucester, with 3 other Baringa Partners colleagues, working on the design phase of a new TRM (Trading and Risk Management) solution that will replace several legacy applications and spreadsheets to enable the client to trade across power, gas, carbon and coal using one central system. The objective is to provide a flexible foundation that will enable the expansion into further commodities and markets, such as oil or uranium, to be achieved rapidly in the future.

My previous piece of work was also based at the same client so there is a good feeling of continuity and familiarity. I led a 2 month project to select a new system to manage credit risk exposures across the retail and wholesale sides of the business. This was a new area for me, so the project provided a real challenge with a steep learning curve. I am pleased to say that I received valuable input from experienced Baringa Partners colleagues on other projects, which meant that I quickly came up to speed and am now considered one of the credit risk experts!
